After lots of hard work and the support of many, we were unable to save this great fair. Lets give them a farewell BANG! Attend the final event June 22-24 at the Manuel Lujan building on the Fairgrounds in Albuquerque. Will miss you for sure.
New Mexico Arts would like you to support "Keep NM Arts & Crafts Fair Alive!"
The Fairs mission is to promote a premier juried New Mexico arts and crafts event that showcases the most talented artists and craftspeople and creates a significant economic impact throughout the state.
The Fair also encourages and supports youth artists ensuring that future generations will have a venue to display and sell their work directly to the public.
Donations will help pay for rental of the facilities to put on the Fair, advertising of the fair, administrative costs, the Youth Art Exhibit at the Fair (drawing around 1,000 entries K-12 from throughout New Mexico),youth mentoring programs, support for Keynote Exhibits at the Fair, and help keep the Fair financially viable past this years 57th Annual New Mexico Arts & Crafts Fair.
Those benefiting from the Fair are New Mexico artists and craftspeople, national and international artists and craftspeople, New Mexico youth artisans, and other non-profits that we help out through the year.
We need funding immediately to help continue our mission for the Fair, as well as ongoing donations throughout the year.
The New Mexico Arts & Crafts Fair is the 2nd oldest continually run arts event in New Mexico, after Indian Market. http://www.nmartsandcraftsfair.org
As a 501(c)3 non-profit we've relied on grants and sponsorship's the keep the Fair alive. The economy since 2008 has had a major impact on our sponsorship support, and the past few years there have been drastic reductions in grants from New Mexico Arts, the National Endowment of the Arts, and others. The current administration is now proposing to deny support to the National Endowment of the Arts, creating a funding shortfall throughout the arts.
I am a volunteer member on the board of the New Mexico Arts and Crafts Fair.
