Since 2001, storytelling at Berg Park has been part of the Farmington Public Library on the second weekend in October that hosts professional storytellers, like Bill Harley, Andy Offutt Irwin, Dovie Thomason, Bil Lepp and many more.  But, the attraction on Friday, is the youth storytellers!

Youth storytellers attend workshops during the summer months with Flo Trujillo, that will prepare them to tell at the festival.  Many of the youth emcee the event and volunteer to emcee the Bedtime stories at the Historic Totah Festival during the October Art Walk.

Youth storytellers practice their stories throughout the summer in front of audiences throughout the community.  Youth storytellers also tell their story on KSJE 90.9FM to promote the festival.  Stories are saved in a podcast archive that provides an opportunity for schools to use during computer time, down time, or story time in their classrooms.

I will post some pictures of youth - telling and sharing stories. Along with the link to the podcast.
